Adoption Hours
* Monday – Friday from 10a.m. – 4p.m. * Saturday and Sundays- Closed
You must sign an agreement stating that you will have the animal either spay/neutered and get it a rabies vaccine at the vet of your choice. Rabies vaccines must be got immediately for animals over the age of 3 months. Animals adopted at the age of 6 months or older must be spay/neutered within 30 days of adoption. If the animal you are adopting is under the age of 3 months, you must get the rabies vaccine when they reach the age of 3 months. Also, if the animal you are adopting is under 6 months, you will be required to get the animal spay/neutered when the animal reaches 6 months.
If at any time you can no longer care for or keep the adopted animal, you agree to return it to the shelter. You must notify the shelter immediately if the animal is no longer in your possession or is deceased prior to receiving its rabies vaccine and/or spay/neuter. A notarized letter must be provided. To the best of the shelter’s knowledge, the animal being adopted is in good health, however, no test are performed at the shelter. All animals are being adopted as is.
*ALL FEES ARE TO BE PAID AT THE SANDERSVILLE CITY HALL AFTER CONTACTING THE SHELTER. Adoption:
- $15 per animal
*It is the responsibility of the new pet owner to obtain health papers for any animal crossing over state lines after adoption.
Additional Services/Items:
- HomeAgain Microchips $20 per animal
- Soft Claws Dog Nail Caps $10 per animal
- Shelter T-Shirts $10 each (XXL $12 each)
Reclaims:
- $25 for small dogs and cats
- $35 for large dogs
- 2nd time reclaim fee will double.No exceptions!
- Plus $10 per night spent at the shelter.
Drop-Offs: **Please contact the shelter prior to bringing animals in. This is a very busy time of the year for us and we have limited space. We do not always have a pen avaiable immediately. However, we do have a waiting list that you can be added to if no pen is avaibale and you will be contacted as soon as space permits.
- Owner Surrenders $20 per animal
- Stray $10 per animal
Litters: (MUST be at least 6 weeks of age AND eating on their own)
- 1st litter $10 per puppy/kitten
- 2nd litter $20 per puppy kitten
- 3rd litter will NOT be accepted.
**WE DO NOT ACCEPT ANIMALS THAT ARE INJURED, SICK, VISIBLY PREGNANT, OR NURSING.
Animal Safety Issues/Concerns Program for school students:
